Phil did you mean to say that Seaka is floating 15cm above the old waterline? Or did you mean 15mm?

Greg, Rob and All,

I did mean 15cm or 150mm, in fact today the water foot pump started to suck air, so I have very little water and anything else onboard now.
Every time I move on Seaka she rocks from side to side for some time, very uncomfortable  .

Well Rob, I haven't got a plan of where I will go yet apart from the fact that it will be somewhere.
Leaning away from approaching Tassie from the north at the moment and thinking of heading north to Qld
and parts northern again with the idea of seeing all those places I missed on the 2011 voyage plus areas to the north of the Whitsundays.

Should finish the raised sea berth tomorrow and then I can start gluing and fixing it together and the painting.

Will probably be to hot to use two pack paint next week so will finish off the fiberglassing.

After almost four months overseas and not having seen Dulcamara, I took her out last weekend. She was clean, dry and reasonably fresh inside, thanks to my mate Rob looking after her.

Yesterday I booked her in for a scrub and Anti foul, after not having been done for 18 months. Not bad, because we're in 6-7 metres at mid tide, not too much shell, just slime. So she's up next Wednesday and for the same price as last year, and the year before that, but this year they've added a topside and deck wash as well!

Greg, you need to renew the jellyfish repellant......

Evening All,

Well I'm just sitting here a bit stunned, see I just worked out the cost for bringing all the halyards etc back to the cockpit and rerigging the mast.

That will be around $3,100 thanks! Now how the hell do I get this pass SWMBO!

Progress to date has us at the painting stage.
The raised sea berth is complete and at home I have sorted through the gear from Seaka and ditched a lot of unnecessary stuff.
I have been painting all that could be removed from Seaka, only six items to go and will complete that this week.
I have to do a bit of fibreglassing to seal two stantion bolts in the forward cabin.
We have to remove two unused tracks at the stern and fibreglass up the bolt holes.
The main genoa tracks need to be removed and resealed.
Old cams etc on the cabin roof need to be removed and the holes fibreglassed up. [I need to do this to complete the inside painting]

That should do us for this week but I may get an undercoat of two pack on the forward cabin if the temperature stays below 25 at the end of the week.

After using a broom to wipe the slime from Storm Petrel I had a lovely sail on Sunday and she was back up to speed - 6 knots to windward again. Over the next two days I will be giving the external varnish a light sand and applying a couple of fresh sacrificial varnish coats. There is always something to do.......

Cheers,
Mark

PS I was thinking about sailing down to Sydney for the Naval review but friends tell me it will be madness on the Harbour. Is anyone else intending to be there?

Hey, Guess what I did today !!!

The bottom of the keel had a lot of shell and oysters on it, as usual, which is hard to get off on the trolley. The hull is still a bit dirty but she goes up on the slips at Marks Pt on Monday so it doesn't matter. I tried using a broom and fins but ran out of steam pretty quick.
Its great to be back on the water. Happiness is 4.9 knots at 2000 rpm.
Now to fix all the other usual stuff.

Hey Mike, look, no jelly fish!
