Rudder removal

Rudder removal

Postby Brett2016 » Wed Feb 06, 2019 5:50 pm

Come April I will be lifting San Felice out for a scrub. I am looking at changing the bushes on the rudder and wondering how much clearance under the keel I will need to drop and remove the rudder?

Cheers, Brett

A minimum of 800mm.

Best to remove inwater if you can and get towed to your haul out place.

Also consider replacing the cutless bearings top and bottom in the rudder tube as any flop in the rudder is caused by these 2 bearings.
