That's the best arrangement I've seen Tom.

What about the stress on the mast when lifting, no problems?

Tom, I really like the pushpit with seats. Very nice.

How does the slide thing actually work? In the photo, it looks like the well is closed off with a grey board.

Glad to see a bit of interest in the motor retract slide setup.
It really does make the boat much easier to use particularly for sailors who are not particularly strong.

Phillip, Bonnie Lass has a lifting tackle (blue line) attached to the solar panel frame above.

Louis, the grey board beneath the cavitation plate on Bonnie Lass is put in place to stop waves splashing up into the cockpit.

The lifting setup on Sombrero is a line (white) attached to the motor mount and is just pulled upwards to retract.
The lifting load could be reduced by about half by fitting a block to the motor and running a line from the top of the frame, around the sheave then pulling up.

I have a few more pictures if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Tom

The photos Tom posted are the exact ones i was thinking of. Really good set ups. Much better than on the transom i reckon. I have experienced way to much cavitation with it recently with it on the transom. I'm going to try moving the transom bracket down first. But can seea liftingsett up in the well as probably what I'll have to do eventually.
