Glad to see a bit of interest in the motor retract slide setup.
It really does make the boat much easier to use particularly for sailors who are not particularly strong.
Phillip, Bonnie Lass has a lifting tackle (blue line) attached to the solar panel frame above.
Louis, the grey board beneath the cavitation plate on Bonnie Lass is put in place to stop waves splashing up into the cockpit.
The lifting setup on Sombrero is a line (white) attached to the motor mount and is just pulled upwards to retract.
The lifting load could be reduced by about half by fitting a block to the motor and running a line from the top of the frame, around the sheave then pulling up.
