Rabbit 2,

I will have a Yankee and Jib for sale after I return home.

I'm going to put a furler on!

Sent from the Newry Islands, have finally left the Whitsundays and am now heading home to Camden Haven after five and a half months cruising. :D

This is almost as fun as the inboard/outboard debate. FC had a furler fitted when I bought her, but also came with very good set of hanked headsails. I found the furling setup up frustrating to live with and was happy to take it off once I blew out the furling headsail several years later. I am in love with my big genoa and would be reluctant to give it up now. I have seen twin furling headsails on some bigger yachts. Has anyone contemplated running twin forestays on a Toppie... one with a furler?

Would it not be the best of both worlds if the furler foil had a track which would allow an easy change of headsail? You would also need the type of reefer/furler with a halliard swivel. There would still be the need to go to the foredeck to do a sail change, but then the best size range of sail will be available, and even though not 100%, still better performance than a deeply reefed furled headsail.

My furler has two tracks so you can change sails.
Or have 2 jibs at once sort of like a double headsail instead of a spinnaker.

Have never done it though.

One head sail on a furler is enough for me.
