20 mm is a bit small for your mooring rope, should be at least 25 preferably 27 mm.
I had 20 mm on my snubber and after 3 days of near 40 knot winds it had lost all of its stretch and had become very stiff.
The weave had also elongated!
I replaced it with 25 mm rope.
