Forward stauncion, is it necessary ?

Forward stauncion, is it necessary ?

The forward stauncions have been removed by the previous owner. Common on small yachts used in bays and harbours, our E26 had them off as well.

I have the hardware, but was wondering if they interfere with the sails and hence removed ?

For coastal sailing I would like to put them back on if they are not a issue.

Welcome Topi
I'm a big believer in railing stops many things from disappearing over the side, including myself ? Yes ,stanchions and wire can hold the headsails up and crew crew has to pull them down ,it's called "Skirting"

Cheers Bear
