Hi Bornfree ,

Sold mate , i am a couple weekends away from taking posession of her in Sydney . The current owner is a local in The Church Point area , and has been great to correspond with . Those on this forum are aware of my interests in Mk1 Top Hats , so it has finally happened ( yeah lol ) . Just finishing off the last throws of renovations to our rental property here in Broken Hill NSW , and will be in Sydney with my young family on the 27th of March to meet up with current custodian . Although it requires some attention ( im under no illussion ) , this is a project that i am looking forward to progressively restoring her back to her former beauty !!!

There are some great buys around for those that want do a bit of work to restore them back to their former glory , and i am thrilled to become a Mk1 owner . My background in boating is Waterskiing , and owning a BB Chev Raceboat , though i feel that owning my new Mk1 Sailboat ( new to me ) , with my young family onboard will be so much more rewarding . Given Top Hats reputation for reliability , i am at rest , knowing my young children are onboard such a magnificent vessel

so ill be back in Sydney soon seeking my Mk1 , while also starting in a position made available to me in Traffic Control ( Blue / Yellow Card holder ) , by a company that i have been working for in Broken Hill on various projects , in the same week , so i need to keep my mind on the job . So if you see a Traffic Controller in Sydney in the next few weeks , with obvious joy eluminating , it is probably me ......

Troppo :
Thanks Mate !!

Bornfree :

Unsure whether it is a Baker built Mk1 , though the attached pictures may indicate this , by one of our esteemed contributors . Mooja is her name , though i will be changing the name in honour of my beautiful wife to " Pretty Emma " in whom i am forever indebted for giving birth to our three healthy young children , and also fitting in time with the era in which Mk1s were built in the 1970s , with the Little River Bands song " Pretty Emma "

if you ever see the work i have carried out to my 1910 Miners Cottage in Broken Hill , you would know im quite handy . Having a brother who is a Carpenter , will also add to the quality of refitment . there are a few Mk1 around at the moment that have a layout and scheme that appeals to me . such as the white one on Gumtree for 11K .

The weekend of 30/31 March , i will be on Mooja around Pittwater , so if you see a Mk1 pottering around using an Outboard as auxillery , it may be me . Taking it easy at first , i am new to Top Hat Sailing , though my interest in Sailing has been there since 1990 .

I would like to thank the current owner who is resident on Scotland Island , for the pictures attached were taken after he went out to Mooja the other night . Although i will not list what he includes in the sale , i am more then pleased with the deal made .

looking foward to meeting up with forum members on the waters around Sydney , including the Hawkesbury River region , and spending quality time onboard with family , and friends , while being with my three children aged 3,4,9 on Australias No. 1 25 footer !!! ( Like Big Kev Says : " I'm Excited !!! "
