Looks like i have to get an EPIRB!

So im looking to buy (or hire one would be preferable, for 2 weeks, for the top hat get-together)

Phillip,

You will need one, but just get the minimal. I paid just over $400 for mine, from that well known Kmart of the boating world Whitworths. Easy to fit, and easy to register with AMSA, which is a must and is free.

Perhaps better off buying one, than trying to rent one for such a short time, that would cost you almost as much as the purchase.

It's also cheaper to purchase than to pay the fine for not having one.

Just food for thought - check the battery deal with them.

There was a deal recently with Pains Wessex where if you bought it they would replace the battery at 5 years giving you an effective life of 10 years... not an expensive investment over that time period. BCF had them.
