Jan and Ian Mitchell sailed around the world in the Top Hat "Caprice" between 1974 and 1977. Jan wrote fourteen magazine articles, which were published in several magazines during the year after their return. These included one the editor chose as the cover story for Women’s Day on August 14th 1978. Jan’s articles from Australian Sea Spray and Australian Sailing (including one by Ian Mitchell) are available on the link on this website, Historical Articles on the Top Hat Yacht.
The book includes all these articles and more: many more photos and charts than in the original articles, as well as a chapter on the history of Top Hat yachts in Australia.
