Basin Get together 24/25 November

Postby storm petrel » Mon Oct 08, 2012 5:16 pm

As the HRYC event has been postponed:

Anyone interested in a raft-up in the Basin on the weekend of the 24/25 Nov anyway??? (Meet for lunch, maybe a sail around to refuge in the afternoon and an over-nighter or an afternoon sail around Lion Island and return for an over-nighter at the Basin for those interested.)

John (Killick) and Mark (Storm petrel) are in. Any others interested?

Cheers,
Mark

I'll drink to that Mark.

Sounds like a plan to me, put me down. I'm looking forward to it. Gotta get some crew.

I suspect our 'cruise in company' on the afternoon of the 24th might be a little competitive (nudge, nudge) but not an 'actual' race of course as this might have insurance implications.

Who else is interested in joining us??????

Regards,
Mark

Mark, two boats traveling in the same direction automatically constitutes a race, as such.

Greg, if your planning to come south a few days earlier, I could train it up and sail down with you. Unless you're bringing Mr Bear. In that case, you can have his flatulence to yourself.....

No problems Mike, I like sailing on my own, if Bear is avaialble I feel he he will join us. I hope he does just for the raft up.
I'll probably be coming down after Wed, after sailing. and maybe going back after the weekend.
I love saling the boat and listening to the traffic reports, eg.New England Hwy at a standstill through Maitland, Spit bridge is slow, there is a 5 km bank up of traffic on the spit bridge following an earlier accident etc. ....and the wind is a 12kt Easterly, YES!

Oh postponed?

Pity.
Yes I will be in for a raft up.

But only if everybody goes oooo and ahhhh about Sea Lady and no negative comments about changing away from original.

OK?

I will be ready to ooh and arrrr, Diana.

Now it looks like we have 6 boats for starters; Storm Petrel, Felicite, Dulcamara, Irishwolf, Sea Lady and Killick.

Anyone else interested? Come on guys the more the merrier, even if you can only make it for a couple of hours or want to come over on the ferry from Palm Beach.

Michael/ Dulcamarra,

2 boats sailing in the same direction does not constitute a race.
Not all of us have surging competitive testosterone. :P

Some prefer the slow and steady.

For example the first 'race' I was ever in half way through I decided I prefered to go in a different direction to the rest of the fleet so went my own way.

I guess this means I will never win a trophy
