Azzura relocates - but still on Lake Macquarie!

Postby Gramps » Tue Sep 18, 2012 5:17 pm

This is a kind of notification of a change of address!
Azzura moved from the LMYC at Belmont today to take up her new mooring on the west side in Kilaben Bay on the south shore around the corner from Styles Point.
I was lucky to get a good spot and all I have to do now is practise walking on water to save having the use the dinghy.
And thanks Bear and Greg for the tip about the mooring contractor. I used Mr. Moorings and he gave prompt service and I am also happy with the installation.

Good move, congratulations
That is the best position in the lake. A known cyclone hole, and nice and quiet.
I like to stay on the public mooring near the "F" wharf, which by the way is a railway wheel.

Hi Greg,

I am very pleased with the location too and I am in good company with two other Top Hats. One other is another Mk 1 with a dark blue hull and cabin, so we look a bit like twins.

Sean,

Is that Mark 1 called “CONTANGO" by any chance, or was it a previous name of that Top Hat?

Could you check it out for me please.
Phillip.

Hi Mark,
The interesting tale of Azzura is that you bought it from me when I developed back trouble and couldn't get to the boat, then I got back into boats with that 24ft Triton moored near you on the other side of the marina, but when you sold Azzura I missed my chance and it went to Lake Macquarie for a year. However that is when I managed to buy her again.
So she is still in good hands.

And Hi Phillip, this Mark 1 was never named Contango. She was originally GADABOUT and is on the Australian Shipping Register under that name.

Regards to you both

Thanks Sean,

If you or anybody else comes across Contango I would certainly like to know. :)
