G'day Bear,

Greg has some explaining to do, but at least I have a valid excuse. That is a sure sign of old age!

We pittwateries like to get out to sea for an afternoon sail and this is not an option on the Lake, so I do not think you will be inundated with new arrivals from here. I cannot speak for others, but my Top Hat really only comes to life when she is moving through ocean swells. You can practically hear her breathe a sigh of delight when she starts to push through the waves and her decks start to become awash with salt water. I also like sailing offshore because you are usually the only yacht out there and the conditions are always so different.

Not so sure about walking on the beach arm in arm with myself? I usually do this at home in the morning with my dog or surfboard before I go for a sail.

Great to see you guys getting so much joy from the Lake.

Hi Mark,
You've now got me looking for a dog and a surfboard, kinky!

When I was in Port Hacking it was only 2 miles to the open ocean. Definitely agree with you that Felicite likes nothing better than a good run at sea. The boat comes ALIVE, and me too. That is the next step.

It's Newcastle Harbour up to Hexham in the next couple of weeks. 13miles to Newcastle from here. Hope to see some whales. Heard bad reports about Newcastle, dirty, noisy, busy, so it might be a one off.

I have logged my details with Marine Rescue Lake Macquarie "Hunter 640". I'd recommend everyone going to sea often to do that. Saves time, your privacy and helps the people that can help you ! Associate membership is only $30 pa.

I also get to stop all the traffic on the Pacific Highway. Storm Petrel doesn't stop traffic like Felicite does.

Keep sailing.
Greg.
