Mid year get together

Hi All,

I am still keen for Saturday. lets have a minor get together on Saturday and have another one in July or August, giving plenty of notice so everyone can come.

I suggest we meet at the Basin at 1pm on Saturday for a chat and a bite of lunch.

PS Because of the over run, we only have to back into half tide rocks by 8.30 pm to catch the tide on Saturday, so should be able to have an after lunch sail with any interested Hatters.

This is what I was thinking ? On Lake Macquarie there are Sport and rec places ,well there's two ? 40 mins from Sydney .My wife has hired them for girlie weekends away and swears by them .Now if everybody was keen this might be a solution to a problem We can all get together with out worrying about weather or the whether or nots and stay Friday night Saturday and leave Sunday morning . Now depending on how many Hatters we get, the cheaper it is ? Myuna Bay is one in mind Maybe in July on ?

For me, I would rather meet with our boats. After all that is what we have in common.

Ok how about meeting at ;
RMYC Broken Bay at Avalon
Newport Arms hotel
Bobbin Head, you can get a boat in there. Picnic facilities too.
Akuna bay, you can get a boat in there too.

Failing that, shouldn't we actually be aiming for Sydney Harbour as Aaron was the person who instigated this and it seems to have been derailed.

Yes, lets aim for July/August for another attempt?, hopefully us out-of-towners can make it, we could probably work in the Newport Arms or Yacht club to the program then as no-doubt we'll be there a few days waiting for weather anyway....?

Diana, will Sealady still be in the Hawkesbury then?

I could see if RPAYC at Newport is prepared to have us moor up for a meal, on Saturday night, then those who are sailing in can bring boats,and others can just arrive by car, or hitch a ride on a boat.

The other alternative is that we still meet at the Basin. I'm sure with the three or four boats supposed to be going we could manage the people, just not for an overnight. I'll have Russell and Gabi, so can take a couple more, Mark will have three so might take another. We could have a bite at the Basin, then sail about a bit and head off to a shore based venue for a meal on the Saturday night.

Newport arms doesn't have any berthing, Bobbin Head is a long way for any one sailing.

As I said before, I'm going out anyway, but would be happy to take more for a day sail.

I agree to postpone until July/August, but Like Michael I will come over on Saturday anyway (unless there is zero wind which could be a possibility at present).

Only minor repairs to go at McKay Marine, unofficially took delivery this afternoon.

Official handover is when ALL repairs are complete!!!!

Congratulations Russell, youll have a ball on your toppy for sure.
Guys that sounds really good having it llater on during the year, as it will be warmer.
When i set this event i was thinking that the Dawn might be ready to go to sea, but i live in a timeworp when im on the boat, bogging up a few holes, laying some glass in the locker and sanding the port topside with 180 on the weekend took all day!! but it is so worth it
Hopefully by then i will be pulling up sail and heading up to pittwater
