Top Hat's

The 'Top Hat Sailing Division' (old Top Hat owners who get together for a social race on Pittwater every month...who have moved on to larger yachts...) have invited any Top Hat's in the Pittwater area (NSW) on Saturday 5 March 2011 to come along and join in a social race.

The race starts from Taylors Point Mark, Pittwater and sails an inshore course around the buoys with a 3 hour time limit.

There is a division that starts at 12.30pm for the 'cruiser' style boats (I guess that would be us) with the faster boats starting 30 minutes later.

I you are interested come along. Look for boats displaying a pink burgee with Top Hat motif and let them know you are racing at the Taylors Point start line and they will advise you of the course number for the day.

I can send anyone interested more details, just let me know email address.

We were keen to come Denis but with the rising southerly swell, 20-25 knot head winds and a big tidal flow against us, we decided it would be foolhardy to attempt to cross the bar at Little Box Head today.

Perhaps the RMYC could organise another Tophat day later in the year?

Cheers,
Mark
