oh no - then why is a mark 11 the one featured when you log onto the website???? But even though I ahve a Mark 2 I think you are right, I do like the shape of the mk 1's more than the later models. Cheers P

Yep, Mk1 is the prettiest hands down, but I do like the slightly heavier keel and extra headroom in my Mk11.

Nope, there is no extra headroom in a Mk2, but there is less volume in the water tank and less floor area than the Mk 1. Formit lowered the cabin roof and then the cabin floor on the Mk2 and then lowered them again on the Mk 3 which has the same head room as the other 2 Mks.

Now as to the larger ballest I have in my notes somewhere why that was done as well. Will try and find it.

Hi Top Hatters,

1 Why is there a Mk II on the front web page ............... A: politics
2 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ....................... A: OPSM :geek:
3 Mk II 's have more headroom ................................. A: A rubber band is not a measuring device.

THE MKI IS THE PRETTIEST TOP HAT OF ALL. And all the Mk1owners lived happier ever after. Amen!!!

Yes, I know that the extra headroom in the Mk2 is due to lowering the cabin sole, but it still means I don't hit my head as often (so it is worth stretching the rubber band for us tall folk). I think Bear the Currawong 30 was also Baker built or so my mooring neighbour tells me. But I would still vote the Mk1 to be the fairest of them all.

Oh my... the site has become a little more lively.

Love them all.

The ultimate would be a mix and match job -- the keyhole capionway entry of the mark 1, the cabintop of the Mk2 and 3, and the single window of the mark 3!
