hi Philip
I like to know about how did you put the back stay though the canvas?
as far as the other tubeings, I 'll need to work it out myself , because Sylph is a mkIII .

Hi Philip,

You have to have the Bimi cut from the rear frame up to your backstay and have velcro sown on so you can close and open the cut. You must also have the area around where the backstay goes through trimed with canvas to prevent fraying of your bimi canvas.
I'm have included the best photo I have showing the bimi. Sorry I took so long to post this.

Phillip
We had to unstitch a little each side of the cut to allow the pocket,
for the back tube, to be trimmed so it would not come apart.
Tube pocket was then resown.

Hi Philip,

Yes, most definitly, I have seen 50knt winds over our mooring area, so not the best to have a sail up :o .

I brought the cover made for the bimini, had to have that cut and valcro sown in as well to allow for fitting around the backstay. I close up the bimini around the backstay, means I have to adjust the fore and arft bows so they all meet at the backstay at the same point. I have noticed that the canvas of the cover has faded badly so I'm glad I got it to protect the bimini.

Karl,
Trust you, I almost tried to cut it out as it may have be distracting :o .

It is timber, hails from Port Phillip and is owned by a bloke who lives towards Newcastle.
We don't see him often but he should be up over Easter.
I will speak to him then and get the full details for you.

I do know that is has recently been fully restored as he rolled it a few times {at the same time  } going in through the Rip at Port Phillip.

PS Peter has made it to Camden Haven, passed Shaun on Thursday morning off Diamond Head.
