HOMEWARD BOUND

Postby DESIREMK1 » Mon Sep 24, 2018 8:40 pm

Hi Top Hat Owners ,

I have been away from Top Hat Ownership for about 5 Years Now , Though the allure of re - owning such a Great Sailboat as the Top Hat 25fter is drawing me back in the near future . Previously I owned a nice Mk1 that I had on a private mooring at Mooney Mooney Creek On Sydney’s Hawkesbury River . Which was only sold , as my wife became homesick for her homeland of Broken Hill NSW , and I didn’t know how long we were going to be living back there . Today I employed as a Removalist Truck Driver in South West Sydney , Which In my role as a Removalist , sees me moving Containers all over NSW . Back in 2014 when we were living in Sydney , I was employed by Moits Excavation As Safety Officer on various Construction Sites all over Sydney .

My other side of boating has been accomplished with running in Sydney’s Upper Hawkesbury Powerboat Club’s Bridge To Bridge Powerboat Race last year . Which had been an ambition of mine for over 30 Years .

So to all that knew of my passion for Sailing back around 2014 , including Phill in his Mk1 , And Mike with his beautiful Mk3 “ Dulcamara “ I am on my way back to Top Hat Ownership , Though this time in a more comfortable family orientated Mk2-3 for my Wife Natasha & our 3 Children .

I Would Love To Co Respond With a Sydney Mk2-3 Owner To Get A Taste Of Where I Need To Get Back To , including possibly buying your Mk2-3 :)

Welcome back Brad!

We have missed your enthusiasm while you have been outback ;)

Shaun and I just sold a Mk 1, would have suited you down to the ground [or should I say water  ]

Keep watching as you may be surprised when the right Top Hat turns up.

Hi Woodsy. ,

We actually passed each Sailing a few times in the Pittwater Area , And waved to each other from a distance .

I hope all is well with yourself , and your beautiful Mk1 ?

Hi Phillip. ,

I’m sure you would have still been onboard your Top Hat Mk1 , As I remember there wasn’t anyone more dedicated to Top Hat Ownership , With your Mk1 . If I remember correctly Shaun had a Junk Rigged MK2 :)

I’d be interested in finding out who currently owns my MK1 “ Mooja “ As Woodsy pointed out , and her current physical condition . She would be moored still in Sydney I’d imagine .

G'Day Brad.
Good to see you're coming back to the big smoke, but not sure why.... it's bedlam here! ;)

The boat (looks like a Bullet or a Tennesee to me) looks good at full flight in the Bridge to Bridge. I've done it a few times, but the ski race not the boat race. When speeds got up to over 100mph I chickened out...... :o

There are plenty of Top Hats about for very cheap at the moment. I sometimes think of selling Dulcamara, but every time I go back out I change my mind. We've had a lot on our plate with work and house painting, plus a holiday to the US etc, so she's sitting alone for weeks at a time at the moment.

I'm sure you'll find one though, but don't discount something like a Compass 28/29 or similar if you want similar style and a little more room.

8-)
