Sheet sizes

I have just bought a tired Top hat and need to replace some sheets. can anyone advise the best sizes, best place to buy and rough lengths? sorry for all the questions but I am sure a smart sailer can tell me quickly...LOL

If you have the original sheets (headsail, main?) then that may be a good place to start. You can check lengths, size and use as a guide. There is a Whitworths on Griffiths Rd in Lambton. Their prices are reasonable. Also you can see the different types of rope in stock and compare to your old sheets.

1x Jib halyard (red) = 10mm @ ~25m
1x Jib halyard (green) = 8mm @ 25m
2x Jib sheet = 10mm
1x Main uphaul = 8mm @ 25m
1x Main sheet = 14mm
1x Backstay tensioner = 8mm @ ~5m


That's the list I have for Galini from starting to replace all my running rigging. Sorry I don't have the lengths of the sheets, but I think from memory someone said 150% of boat length, so say 12m with a bit of spare? Not sure about mainsheet length though

Great information guys ...much appreciated. let the work begin...on another question does anyone know where i might find an inexpensive furler for the jib? Michael.

Another supplier closer to Valentine is Bob Fussell - on the Esplanade between Warners Bay and Speers Point. Used and recommended by other forum members.
