Antifoul options

After regular scrubs, flaking antifoul paint and cracked/some exposed other coloured paint I assume means time to antifoul Azzurra.

Little bit of shell on bottom of keep, otherwise just slimy film every few wks.

This is all new to me so considering long vs short term benefits of normal vs coppercoat. I'd replace thru-hulls if went long term option.

Reading up a bit suggests might be worthwhile to go long term option.

Any ideas on cost/longevity of coppercoat on a tophat (swing moored in fresh end of tidal Clarence).

Suggestion on how/where to easiest do this?

Just a note for all using a roller to put antifoul on.....

You need to put 3 coats on for an effective amount applied.

How many litres is 3 coats with a roller Phillip?

6, which means one and a half tins, [tins are usally 4 lts] but it will keep I believe or find a friend for the other half

What antifoul brand do you suggest?

Wonder why yearly antifoul is still the norm?

All brands are OK in that none are 'not recommended'.

As to what brand it depends on how deep or shallow your pockets are. Check what brands your neighbours are using.

I applied my last three coats [Altex No5] in April 2015 and then cruised for 7 months, it appears I will have to redo it again late this year.

Most of us try to stretch the time between anti-fouling as much as possible.
