Jeez Phil, a bit of an adventure! I think that beats kissing the bridge at Swansea on your last venture south.....

Still planning to come, still watching the current forecast of Nor'easters all day Friday. I can't come Thursday 'cos I've got stuff on, but Thursday looks perfect to travel North.... Oh well... we'll see. Might have to get the two wheels out.

Location?

Do we have a decision of a location?
Any activities?

A group sail around?

Where to stay overnight?

I suggest that long term locals of Lake Mac should make this decision.

Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I’m very envious. I have wanted to sail to Lake Macquarie for some time but my sailing has been on hold for the last 10 months due to health issues and although my treatment is now completed a solo coastal sail is just a bit premature for my recovering fitness level.

However, if a decision is made for a get together for a few hours either on shore, or a raft up with easy access from the shore (I have an inflatable dinghy,) I will drive up there. I will be watching the site with interest but if it turns out that the event is (very appropriately) only for those with boats I wish all involved a great time.

Cheers

It looks like it's going to be a NE for sat afternoon/evening, so let's make it at Croudace Bay/valentine?
there is a good jetty there from memory....where I might tie up to. I think Bear is based there. if we go for a group sail(& decide to stay somewhere else on Sunday Bear might be able to take the people that don't have a boat back to Croudace Bay.
I'm sure we can find a bunks for shore based people if they'd like to stay Saturday night, I'd have 1 or 2 spare bunks with byo pillow and sheet/sleeping bag.

Phil & I are planning to get to the lake Friday arvo, if anyone would like to meet for a sail Saturday.
It would be great to catch up with you Keith, all the best for a full and speedy recovery.
Cheers

Hi Shaun
I have bunks free for non snorers :) I think Croudace Bay , as the public jetty is new and there is 1 public mooring and easily accessible by car or bike .I,m hoping to get to the boat Friday mid-morning.

Hi Keith.

You very kindly offered me a bunk at the first Top Hat get together I attended.
So I would like to extend to you the same hospitality.

Diana

p.s.
I think meeting up somewhere easy for those driving up is a good idea.

Could you Lake people put a time on where we meet so those travelling by land have an idea of where and when please.

We also need some meet times / places for those in Top Hats.

Glad we didn't try to come down today has been all high winds offshore

The weather is still crook for going north on the only day I have to go north - Friday.... :x So I may be on the bike instead.

The weather is still crook for going south on the Monday too, so unless the forecast changes rapidly between now and Friday am. I'll be looking for a bed nearby too.

Hopefully be in Croudace early to mid afternoon. I've got a few numbers so will call someone when I'm close.

G'day all and especially Phillip.
I was just speaking to Bear, he's having problems with his computer, he asked me to say that he will be on his boat at Croudace Bay on Friday from 1200. He suggests that we all meet about that time.

His boat is a Swanson 38 named Paripa. Its moored about 100m North West from Croudace Bay Jetty.

Croudace Bay Jetty is 33° 0.263'S and 151° 38.41 E (Pronounced crowd us bay)

Take care navigating the Channel, it is moving around. Last year we lost a marina and Milanos restaurant to the channel.

Hope it helps.
