Top Hat MK1 main access hatch

Postby missk » Mon Oct 10, 2016 10:15 am

Hi

I have a mark 1 top hat and I am looking for a replacement front access hatch. It is the key hole type.

Does anybody have one they are willing to sell or know where to get one.

I live in Sydney and boat is moored at Pittwater.

Thanks
Neil

I reckon getting someone close to Sydney to do you up a female mould and then laying alot of glass layers into it and adding the vent covers would be the trick

That is the only answer as I think the moulds for the Baker Mk 1 deck have been long gone as Formit
redid the deck, almost from the start when they built their first 6 or 7 Mark 1's before they introduced the Mk 2.

Or you could have it made up in Acrylic. I've got a mark3, so the aperture is different, but it may be possible. I have 3 sections of 10mm dark smoke acrylic made up for the doors.

There are two companies in Brookvale who do cut to size. Plastix and Vale Plastics. Take your old one and hey should be albee to use it as a template. They should also be able to cut out the vent holes. When drilling it, you can buy a step dril, just go gentle and small at first, make your way up to the size hole you need.
