Rigging inspection costs

Hi there.
Can anyone tell me what the costs might be to do a full rigging check in Sydney?
I may need a backstay, i need a spreader repair...
i dont have a clue what this might cost!

I just had my rigging checked, cost was $360.00 this included check of standing rigging, chain plates etc, also running rigging & comment on winches, plus importantly, all standing rigging tuned. (As a I thought it was really slack) They went up the mast, provided a good written report and photos. Any replacement of stays, shrouds etc would obviously cost extra.

RodM, are you prepared to tell us who the rigger was? I'm due for a check up, but could probably do everything, but go up the mast, if I had the tension gauge.

My quote from balmain rigging was 200.

Well, 200 sounds better than 360. For 360 I got standing rigging checked and adjusted, chain plates and winches checked, running rigging including reefing lines checked with minor repairs, mast check top and base, and report with photos of issues identified.

Standing rigging got a considerable tune up so I'll be interested to get it out for a sail. Part of my initial concern was loose forestay that was bowing the headsail luff. One interesting comment he made was to check that there was no electrolysis in the mast due to masthead/steaming light shorting... Forever learning!

I've spoken to Mario before. He wasn't quite as responsive, or at it turns out as expensive as the guy who did my replacement 5 years ago. I have the same issue of a sagging forestay. It may need a trim, but will have it looked at professionally. Rigging ain't my forte (yet)

Don't forget that Top Hats have a 150mm or 6" rake in the mast.

I think you got alot for the 360 and would be very surprised if i got the same for $200.The guy i spoke to did say that they would fit it in when theyre doing other boats rigging in the bay at the same time.
