Any ideas of where to leave a dinghy or launch a kayak?

You guys have convinced me that more lady skippers areally needed.

I am looking at the house with a builder on Saturday

Di, just east of the bridge there is a bay that has good shelter from the Nor East. In there are some very large boats.

Youll have to do some research on individual locations. For instance, around the shores of that bay, at Bolton Pt. there are lake side mansions with million dollar views. One block back is Wood Rising, a housing commision estate. Don't be put off by that, some of those houses have some very neat tenants, but some have the unkempt lawns and car bodies. Thats what we found when we were looking in 2003. You have to check out each street on its own. Talk to the neighbours and there are some web sites that give you a good suburb profile. Talk to the local police at Toronto.
We live at Belmont, "East lakes" and we have problems. All in all it's been a good move to get out of Sydney. House prices in Newcastle are doing well. If you do your research you wont regret it.
We havn't used Felicite much over the last year, thats why you haven't heard much from us.
All the best with your search.

Di, Why don't we have the next Top Hat get together at YOUR place?

Seriously though, congratulations, you won't go wrong.

Look forward seeing you on the water.

(At Tennant Ck now, no yacht clubs here.)

Someone on the Seabreeze site is doing the opposite move. Mooring swap?

Thanks all.

I have my mooring now sorted at Bolton Point.
Did try to do the organising from Lightning Ridge - was as difficult as it would have been from Tenant Creek lol

Yes I missed the mooring swap opportunity. Ahh well.

All done now.

Just need to sell my Sydney house, have a few farewell sails on Broken Bay and move house and boat up.

Looking forward to this new adventure.

The move is on - Help requested

Postby SeaLady » Thu Nov 03, 2016 1:18 pm

The house move is 14/15th November and once a few things get sorted I will be sailing SeaLady up.

The assistance I am seeking includes:

Would any of you wonderful people take me out, I mean really out and then back in through the channel and bridge?
I would like to see for myself and take photos.
Advice is - always at high tide.

My plan is to sail up overnight, I have some willing crew, (probably Sonia from Curly Tops and Dave - ex Peppercorn) and then come in at high tide in the morning with the sun behind me so I can see the markers.

Or can you suggest someone with a boat and local knowledge.

From what I can estimate, the sail head to head, Pittwater to Lake Mac is about double Pittwater to Sydney Harbour.
Is that about right?

Many thanks

Diana
