You cannot get away that easy Rob!

You will always be that bloke who sailed a Top Hat around Australia and kept all of us inspired, not only with your posts but with your video clips.

You inspired me enough to plan and ACTUALLY start to follow you around.
In fact I started out before you finished and then the enormity of what you had done sunk in, in me that is.

So when I realized age was against me I only went as far as Bowen before returning to NSW, but you went the whole dice and bottles and completed it. :D

There will always be a place here for your comments and wisdom Rob, so please look in from time to time.

It goes without saying that if a Top Hat calls out to you, you had better answer!

And yes, you do deserve that nomination for Cruiser of the Year, I will be writing to editor Phil about that!

PS. What is the name of your Westsail 28?
Phillip.

when I returned there was a Harrison Butler "Omega" at yaringa that was in need of love. I made a handshake agreement with the owner to buy her when I sold Sundowner and saved the balance. So when I'd sold my boat and had his cash and on my way to his house he txt me and said he changed his mind. That left me almost crying, BOATLESS . I scoured the Internet for something around 30k and was going to go to USA to buy a Halberg Rassy Monsoon 30' when I saw this westsail on a American site for sale in Aust, she sailed over from the states so had all the gear and a new Volvo unfortunately when I got here out hshe had a bit of an osmosis problem. so I'm in the process of epoxy sheathing and doing a major refit. The westsail 28 has loads of room for a small boat, the compass 28 is just a bigger top hat really. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Thanks for that Rob. I was on Sundowner a few weeks back. Luke was kind enough to let me have a squizz.
