My post-Hatter Adams 31 lives up Pittwater way. If the time fits I'd like to join in. When a date's confirmed I'll also see if the new owner of Pelagian wants to come down from Gosford.

Rod, what happened to the Albin Vega? Not as good as you imagined? (A boss once told me there is no such thing as an embarrassing question, just an embarrassing answer.)

I have self diagnosed as a boat tragic. Had a great time resuscitating the Vega but while it was big enough for three Vikings to sail out from the Fjords over two years, it was too small for me n partner on protracted days off during Cyclones. I should explain. After getting the Vega operational our first Saui together coincided with November Brisbane storms... 86,000 houses without power. Windy. Next trip was end Jan when a cyclone wandered down the coast. Only 20k people without power and Qld floods.Windy again. I picked up the Adams Monday Tuesday of the Sydney storms, 200,000 houses without power, even windier, and wet. tI hen went back there last week for the NSW follow up floods. Anyone want to come sailing with me? Perhaps I should skip the Hatter catch up!

Bloke who brought the Vega is bringing it down south in a few weeks. What amazed me its how it kept up speed when wind stopped or when I eased back in throttle. Difference in keel size and water resistance I guess. I read somewhere that the first four boats you buy are preparation for the fifth. Three decades and five (keel) boats. Time to stick with the new one!

Hopefully not too embarrassing an answer:)

Lets make it the first weekend in August. That gives everyone plenty of time to plan ahead.
Refuge Bay will have plenty of empty moorings.
If you can make it this weekend post a reply saying you will be coming.
If we get 3 or more "yes' responses then its on and I look forward to seeing you there.

Sydney Get Together First Weekend in August

Postby SeaLady » Fri May 29, 2015 5:19 pm

Good idea David.
First weekend in August.

I will be there.
You will be there.

That makes 2 yachts.
All we need is one more to cement in that weekend.

I will be sailing from Port Hacking for the weekend.
Would any others boats like to sail in company for the trip up and or back?
Botany Bay and Sydney Harbour boats could join in too.

Bump - is this weekend stil happening on August 1st and 2nd?

Where is the meeting point. Refuge in the afternoon, or somewhere earlier for a sail to Refuge?
