Trailer for a Top Hat ?

Just toying with ideas, but would it be feasible to adapt a tandem car trailer to carry a top hat.? would it carry the weight or would a tri axel be needed? or am I dreaming.

need to allow for 4 tonnes.

It depends on the axle and tyre dimensions. From memory you might squeak in with tandem "Ford" axles, but more than likely you would need a proper rated trailer. The trailer would probably be worth more than the boat.
