Top Hat cradle design?

Top Hat cradle design?

Postby Troppo » Fri May 01, 2015 3:57 pm

Anyone have the plans for making a cradle or yard trolley?

I am thinking of putting Windchaser out of the water for a time to do some work on her and I don't want her on the club slip trolley as that is too expensive. Thought if a cradle could be made easily then get her lifted by crane onto the cradle.

I was looking at the design of the trailer/cradle on gumtree and thinking a basic cradle should not be too hard to make. Something with wheels that can be used on the slip would be more useful but initial expense would be too much so am just thinking of a basic cradle: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/marcoola/sail-boats/yacht-trailer-/1076830196

And no, I am not gunna buy that Gumtree one, just thinking about design.

Louis,
There are trailer photos in the gallery, also look at my blog to see what was used at my last haul out.

There has been a discussion on this before.

Still at Garry's Anchorage, very cold and overcast.
