Roller fairlead, the calm before the storm

Roller fairlead, the calm before the storm

Postby Dolphin » Thu Apr 23, 2015 3:59 pm

I went past Felicite on the Thursday before the big storm, may I say it WAS bigger than the Pasher Bulker Storm. (that's an in joke in Newcastle btw).
The furler seemed to have a lot of sag in it. so,on sat I checked it out. This is what I found.

I made some temporary repairs to ride out the big blow forecast in 3 days but the marina came and put it on the slips. Its a good place to ride out 6okt gusts.

Ohhh, that does not look good!

Glad you found it before the storm. Who knows what would have happened if it was like Pic# 1 when the storm hit.

Good pick up Greg,

Lucky it wasn't out sailing when it let go!

Hope it wasn't too. Expensive a repair either.
