I've been watching the weather in the bight for a while now and, gosh, not easy to pick a time to get across. I guess it is just a matter of timing it so ya get the best of the bad conditions. Certainly a serious challenge.

Not only a long sail, from the wind map, seems he will be heading mostly into winds so a lot of close hauled sailing.

My goodness me, he is right out in that deeper blue colour water. He probably can't even see the bottom!

Haven't posted today's position but it appears Rob has moved slightly east but a bit further south. A Hard Day!

When I was looking at the forecast winds and waves yesterday, it seemed the wind was not on a favorable angle to head straight across. It was going to be shifting so he should get some better day's sailing. Still, it is a long crossing.
