Troppo, I think the second drawing [Mk3] is more typical of Top Hats.

As you can see the moulds all come together and its that joint that fails.

To stop the leaks you have to remove whatever rail you have
dry the joint out and pour in the fiberglass.

I have heard of many litres being used to sort the problem.
In some cases those inside tabs have also failed.

The hospitality at Fremantle Saling Club has been fantastic, great facilities and friendly people at a great rate. I've really enjoyed my rest here but alas it's time to move on. The plan is to sail to the cut, just past Mandura then on to Bunbury, with a couple of fall back anchorages. Fridays wind doesn't look to good so a couple of days in Bunbury then move down for the hop around Cape Leeuwin and into the southern ocean at last. break out the tracky daks and wet weather gear I'm guessing will be the order of the day. I've bought a 4man life raft and blown the budget Sundowner is well down at the nose now. Whilst in Fremantle I met John Sanders after finishing his 9th world circumnavigation and Trevor Robinson who spent a winter frozen in down Antarctica some time back. Very humbling.

Here I'm almost ready, will have the windvane finished in a couple of days, slipping on the 23rd Feb and the boom bag to finish.

Have set a day to start sailing from, that being the 15th March. Don't think Ill catch you

good shelter for the night, canal estate with no houses, if I can get away without going in a marina I'm more than happy. The budget is getting tight and it looks like beans for me pretty soon.

Well Rob got out of the free parking at 2am [!] and arrived in Bunbury yesterday afternoon.
Now anchored outside the sailing club.

Thanks Phil, yeah I'll spend a couple of days here and just take my time going around geograph bay I'm waiting for a favourable window to get around to Augusta, there's lots of reef off cape leeuwin I'm looking forward to getting that leg under my belt. There's no hurry as March seems to be the month for getting east.

Having been to Dunsborough and Busselton recently, the whole coast there is very calm. There is virtually no surf unless thy get a storm or consitient northerlies. It looks like a great place to sail, and mooring off the beach is apparently the go. Some people even walk out to their boats if the tide is right.
