Have been in text contact with Rob today. Bit of a blow coming his way from the south so has stayed at Stewart Island today.

"It's rough not much shelter as wind has swung all chain out now.
Got a good book so I'll just chill out." Rob.

Looks like he is in a nice safe protected anchorage.

Well, maybe a bit open to the weather.

Okay, so it looks very open to the weather.

Maybe not so protected but lucky he has a tough boat and he won't mind being kept up all night with the boat rocking. He is likely used to it by now.

Have fun Rob.

cheers

Rob may lose his gift of the gab after Ex-mouth.

Feeling generous tonight, hence a few extra pictures of where Rob is. Looks like he did some good miles today.

quick update,
Dampier to Exmouth was a lot easier than Broome to DAmpier with plenty of islands to spend the night. Spent two nights and a day at one small island while a blow went through which beats the hell out of beating into 30kts. The water is becoming clear again and it's good to be able to swim again after being so hot in croc country and unable to take a dip. So the next leg is around the corner and sown to shark bay, Canarvan, etc which is about 180nm with not much shelter available by the looks of it. For now I'll get some stores and fuel and water then take a deep breath and head around the corner. From everyone I've spoken to the Naw cape to Freo is the worst so I'm really excited.(not)
cheers
