It sank before Brad could click a pic. It was hit by a Mk1.

In short Phillip , i wasn't going to hang around , as i may have been incriminated !!! . In a few months ill be back in the area , as ill slip our Mk1 at Lovett Bay Boatshed , and i will check on the state of the Cement Barge . The cement Barge may have developed an anxiety , in regard to wayward Top Hats , so ill look into its condition then !!!

Troppo :
The Cement Barge was around 2m X 4m , weighing an estimated 5 tonne , it seems the only way we can really test the strength of a Mk1 , is to gain a volunteer that will lend the Royal Australian Navy their Mk1 for Offshore Missile Range Testing !!!!! :)

Perhaps people dont know, but last time I met him, Brad was in the demolition business.....

Back to the practical. Many years ago, when I was doing osmosis rectification, I used epoxy resin to fill the holes, and held it in place with cling wrap under masking tape. The cling wrap left a smooth surface and came off reasonably easily.

One thing I don't see posted anywhere,

Make sure you use a wax and grease remover before apply I any epoxy over in damaged gelcoat, otherwise it may not stick.

The cling wrap is a brilliant idea, I use it regularly when fixing dings on surfboards..... Not mine you understand, just my friends,,, :) just make sure when you pull it taught over the epoxy, that you don't get creases in it. Saves on a lot of sanding.

Looking forward to having that long awaited beer , with you Ian :))

Sometimes in life it's hard to separate your profession with your passion , in the publics interest , and my duty of care , to the boating community of NSW , i am now considering having this Cautionary Sign onboard !!! ( Lol ) :)
