What I did or planned for my Top Hat today!

Well I bought a Yamaha F9.9AE High thrust four stroke outboard, and suprise suprise it didn't fit! We were expecting that and made some modifications.
I recon now a 2 stroke 20hp could fit with out a problem.
I have also removed the U-shape chainplates that were old and really hard to get to, so now im making a stainless strap for the back stay, Just running the one wire, and is also easy to see the conditions of the nuts and bolts.
This photo was taken before the reconstruction but ill put up more when its all painted and looking pretty.

The boat didnt fit motor............

Yes Phil, I made in fills out of 3mm plywood that follow the outline of the cockpit and transom. (Its hard to explain but ill take some more pics next time).
Im leaving the v in the transom like a bucket with a hole in it to allow water to escape and keep chain in there so no low life nics my motor!!!
The plywood is glassed in with 2 layers of 450 gram chop stand, with bog on top to take up some volume and a thin layer of woven mat with micro balloons on top for easy shaping, and then it will be painted. Im enclosing the whole lot, thats why the chain plate had to be moved, to allow access. The only bolts i'll struggle with are the push bit bolts.

Yes well Diana, We hope to be motoring soon! so you might have to come and visit her on Sea Lady as I cant see Dawn Breaker going to sea anytime to soon. I think we are harbor bound for a while. It would be great to show you the boat that you told me about that turned my dream into reality.

I bought it off Gum tree, its a F 9.9 AE which is from what I've researched a late 80's to mid 90's model, but its down bugger all work.
I don't think they make High thrust Yamaha's anymore, and one thing I remember from all my research is the ultra longshaft 9.9 which I really wanted was only a electric start, which i don't think is a cool thing when it lives out side and is quite close to the water.
My F9.9AE is electric and rope start which is good.

Bought a new kettle.
Small - 500ml sufficient for 2 cups of coffee.
Handle folds down.
So I can fit the kettle and the breakfast frypan on my double metho stove at the same time.

Hopefully it will boil more quickly as well.

When this Sea Lady wants her morning coffee.....
