mooring suggestions

Hi All,

Well after six months of searching I've finally bought a Top Hat "Wigwam" - she's a Mark 1 early 70's baker built.

my next challenge is to find a mooring... I live & work in the eastern suburbs so ultimatley would love to find a mooring around rose bay or somewhere similar...

I'm on the waiting list for a public mooring, but im told that it will take up to 2 years... So if anyone knows of any reasonably priced private moorings or if anyone happens to be going away for the winter and would like to lend me their mooring (I have checked with waterways and you can get a temporary visitor permit) I would REALLY appreciate it!!!

Any other hints as to where i could keep her would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers

Gavin

Congratulations Gavin!

Welcome to Tophats. I also have a Mk 1 and have almost completed
a complete refit, so, if you need to ask a question just yell.

Thanks Phillip,

I'm sure I'll take you up on that offer more than once...

Here's an easy one to start with - Did your mark 1 come with a "dinette" table? and if so if it's not too hard could you describe how/where it's situated? it seems to be the only obvious thing missing down below...

cheers
Gavin

Gavin,

Just added a photo, is this what you are looking for?

Its hung on two Whitworths hinges no 42904 page 102.

At the moment I have it suspended on a cord to the centre hand hold
as my engine case will not allow for a leg.

I did not realize how indicative the photo was of sailing ...
note the cheque book and the catalogue on the table!!!

A word of caution, make sure your bow fitting is in good nick, mine ripped
out whilst on a mooring and I had to have it and the bow re vamped.

Thanks Phillip, looks like your layout is differentt to mine... on Wigwam, both the port and starboard bunks run the entire length without the cutout that you have for the table.

Might have to put my mind to it and work around it...
