Cockpit Winch Needed

Hi all

Looking for a new/2nd hand winch for cockpit. Replacing an ARCO7 (USA). If anyone has anything that would be suitable I'd like to hear from you.

Hi Curly,
The Arco 7 was a cheaper version of the 8. It had a non-metal base which cracks after a while.
Arco sells a bronze base and overhaul kit which is easy to fit. Infact you only keep the drum.
I did all 4 of my winches and they are like new now.
Quite reasonable cost too.

Hey Tom

Thanks for the heads up. Oddly enough the only part that is still attached to my deck is the base plate...the whole upper part sheared off just above (it crached underneath when put under too much strain when rafted up).

Where would I get my hands on the overhaul kit you mention?
