I can motor head to head with a following sea and wind with about 15 litres. From memory.
Have only motored it once and in ideal conditions.
Considering conditions are rarely ideal whenever I have done the trip, Gladesville Bridge to Parsley Bay I have at least 45 litres of fuel on board.
Basically double what I calculated I would need.
(I generally have at least double of anything I need anyway)
Have never used it all, actually have never used anywhere near it.
Have done the entire trip and used basically no fuel at all other than onto and from mooring.
Was sailing and wind is cheaper than petrol.
Then had to take all the fuel off.
But better safe than sorry.
I have a Mercury 2stroke 8 HP.
Think about whether you would need to refuel - top up your tank from a jerry can at sea.
How will you do that?
