I have bought a top hat mk3 and the cocpit floor has excessive movement in it with the drainage channels cracking and water pooling near the cabin rather than flowing out the outboard well. Has anyone else had this problem?

Had the same problem on both of my Top Hats.

Excessive oil canning in the cockpit (and in other areas) of the Top Hat was quite common due to in sufficient layup of glass on the radiused corners. This caused the gel coat to crack due to constant flexing. Eventually water ingresses the lay up through these cracks and can lead to other problems so it is wise to eliminate the flexing.

It is within the scope of most people given a bit of time and patience to fix the problem by glassing in two pieces of wood under the cockpit floor, and then grinding out and filling the cracks in the gelcoat with either gelcoat putty or polyester filler.
