Ok Guys, Crunch Time! ITS ALL ON NEXT MONTH!!
So, Tom, Andy, Austin, Kevin,Ted, Mark, Greg, Austin and Shaun, we need to get our collective acts together so we will know where each of us will be over the next couple of months.
I will be leaving here as soon as I can after New Year’s day. I know that should suit Shaun, so we could get out of here together.
I have a plan [which will of course be useless after we set sail] for the first legs down to Deal Island. It involves about 15 days sailing but allowance will have to be made for weather and rest days.
Based on 4.5Knots.
Camden Haven to Port Stephens: 80nm over 18hrs
Port Stephens to Broken Bay: 75nm over 17hrs
Broken Bay to Sydney: 20nm over 5hrs
Sydney to Port Hacking: 20nm over 5hrs
Port Hackingto Jervis Bay: 70nm over 15hrs
Jervis Bay to Batemans Bay: 50nm over 11 hrs
Batemans Bay to Bermagui: 45nm over 10hrs
Bermagui to Eden: 45nm over 10hrs
Eden to Gabo Island: 35nm over 8hrs
Gabo Island to Lakes Entrance: 110nm over 24hrs
Lakes Entrance to Refugee Bay: 100nm over 22hrs
Refugee Bay to Kent Group: 25nm over 6hrs
Kent Group to Deal Island: 5nm over 6hrs
Deal Island to Flinders Lady Baron: 85nm over 19hrs
[An alternative is: Lakes Entrance to Kent Group or Deal Island: 100nm over 22hrs]
That’s 785nm over 175 sailing hours. Hobart is another 250nm over 6 or 7 days sailing because of things to see.
This hopefully will give us plenty of time to be in Hobart for the Timber Boat Show on the 9th & 10th February which are the only constraining dates.
If anyone has alternatives to this please come back urgently as we only have a couple of weeks before Xmas. Hope you can all still make part or all of the adventure!
If I have missed anyone that is interested in coming along, please PM me soonest.
