Ok answers to questions.
Price is FREE!!!!
There are back mooring fees owing in Pittwater. 2 years. And registration costs.
I have had someone who knows more about boats than me look at it and they reckon the hull and deck seem sound, but that is about all. The project is way beyond my capabilites.
All rigging, both engines, all interior is buggered. All timber work that was under water when she was flooded is buggered. Everything is covered in stinky, slippery slime that was under water.
Current thinking is there are some things I would like the sails in sail bags, BBQ, autopilot if it works.
I have found someone who may be willing to take it and pay the back mooring and other fees, who is a shipwright who wants to fix it up for himself.
Way too expensive a project to have to pay people to do the fixing up.
I am only interested in it as it was offered to me. And I hate the idea of a boat being unloved.
Mine is lovely and I don't need another.
And how does a female get offered a free boat?
On an internet dating site of course!!!!
Not bad eh? Have never met the man and he offers me a boat.
Basically he needs someone to get rid of a problem for him, he can't afford to keep it and his deceased wife loved it. I certainly get the impression he wants someone to love her.
Maybe my face is a bit like Helen of Troy's instead of launching a 1000 ships it may save one sad old Top Hat.
Even though the owner says he wants to knock off the mast and sink her in Pittwater I think some authorities may think differently.
He did put it on Ebay for $1 and had no takers.
P.s. apparently there are also cans of beer on board somewhere.
