Tophat skipper for trip to Hobart

Tophat skipper for trip to Hobart

Postby Andy » Tue Oct 25, 2011 10:43 am

My wife and I have spent the winter preparing out Tophat Mk 111 for the yacht's new home in Tasmania. Out of water survey, rigging checked and replaced, new windows, rewired and an anti-fowl.
The yacht "Lapse of Reason" is ready to go and is moored in Jervis Bay.
I am looking for an experienced skipper to take the boat down with crew, which will be myself, Anne-Maree or one other crew person. This will be a paid position with all expenses paid, including return airfares. The window of opportunity is from November to mid December.
If you have the experience and are interested and would like a safe/fun cruise and not a race to Hobart please contact. Andy & Anne-Maree Routledge andycroutledge@yahoo.com.au

I am open and very flexible, so open to any ideas, however if you are serious about offering your services please initially make contact by e-mail and we can talk.

Kind regards Andy & Anne-Maree

G'day Andy & Anne-Maree,
If you end up having to get a professional delivery skipper, Try Alan Neubauer (member of this site, alan), have spoken to him on the phone & was very helpful, I think he lives around the NSW Sth coast area. He sometimes advertises in the Afloat magazine.
cheers

Thanks for your reply Shaun, I have been in touch with Alan, however he has several other commitments so was unavailable to fit into my time frame. However I have been back in contact with him to see if he is available at another date/time. I have several options, while it would be ideal to have the yacht in Hobart prior to Christmas, I can wait for a couple of more months and perhaps try for a trip around Easter. Trucking down is one option, but sailing down to Hobart seems to be the way to go, perhaps I will do the trip in several stages.
