Blatant commercialism

Blatant commercialism

Postby SeaLady » Sun Oct 09, 2011 5:55 pm

Hi Everyone.

I am helping my mum close down her lighting shop in Camden after nearly 42 years. SW of Sydney. Open 7 days a week.

For what is in stock 30% of lights and 20% off fans.

These are real discounts.
Mainly beacuse we are all far too lazy to put up the prices on hundreds of items and then discount them further.

Yes this is blatant commercialism. But there are real bargains to be had.

I will say that we are running out of some of the latest fashion items. And may only have 1 or a few of some items left.
But fashion like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

There is everything from kids night lights, to chrystal chandaleirs. And literally thousands still to choose from.

My mum is 75 and still working 7 days a week and we have finally convinced her that she should retire.

I am working there next the weekend of 22nd October. (Just finished my weekend shift and would rather be sailing... the things you do for love!!!!)
The shop closes 31st October.
They are all lights for homes not boats. Sorry. All designed for 240 volt.

If you call in and say you are a Top Hatter I may be in a good mood and give an ever bigger discount or a few freebies.

p.s. I am nearly dead. Working my own job during the week and then for love on weekends.
Have next weekend off for rehearsals and sailing. Yeahhh.

Also I am performing in a totally politically incorrect Pantomime every Saturday in November at Richmond, with Richmond Players, http://www.richmondplayers.com.au Aladdin the
Pantoosical. Not like any panto you have seen before... a new play written bry the director.
Theatre Restuarant format.

This is why I cannot get to the Hawkesbury get together, even though I would love to be there.

If you have kids or are a kid at heart you may enjoy it.
Please leave your political and social sensitivities at the door.

It is a hoot.

The shop is Wandalite (Mum is Wanda) 60 John Street Camden.

Would love to see you there.
I would rather see the beautiful things go to a good home and my mum get some cash.
She deserves it.

Top Hatters have mums too. :P

Diana you seem to have a lot on your plate literally in some cases ha ha i hope it all goes OK for you and your mum, sounds like quite a bit of stress with the shop but in the long term your mum will benefit from it ,
Wish i was down there to see your show i love those type of things

Thanks William.

2 more weeks till we close the shop.

Yippeee.

Then everything (hopefully) gets sold to other shops rather than the public.

Did manage to get out for a sail yesterday.
Was fabulous on the harbour.
Just need a way to ban those pesky racers and inconsiderate motor boat people.
