Headsail furlers

Hi all,
I have just taken delivery of a new furler which will be fitted to Sea Lady next wek.
Alado brand. Delivered to me within 5 days of ordering from Brazil . http://www.alado.com
I got lucky and ordered it when the Aussie dollar was at $1.10 . Yeah!!!!

So my old furler is now available if anyone wants it. Am thinking of putting it on Ebay, still thinking.

I think my old one is a Reefurl

Works perfectly well, paint is a little chipped.

The reason I have changed it is that as I was getting a whole new rig and the mast painted I may as well replace everything.

If anyone is interested please let me know.

Please do not ask me technical questions about how to fit it as I have no idea.

I would be very interested in your old Furler. Have you sold it yet (or put it on E-Bay)?
How much do you want for it?
Can you also please advise what size/model is the new Furler, as I have also been looking at this brand?

My riggers lost my old furler so it is probably thrown out.

I purchased an Alado A1. www.alado.com

Have been for 1 sail with it and it is taking a bit of getting used to.
I had a sailing novice on board and he was not watching what he was doing.
You still need to watch the tension and ensure that the line goes inside the drum.
But it is easy to rectify of something goes wrong.

You will probably need to get your headsail modified to fit it.

It can be set up for 2 headsails but I only have one fitted.

It arrived within 5 days of order. I was very impressed.
The instructions are not that clear for installation.
Even the riggers had a bit of trouble.

Probably the English instructions are a translation rather than written in English.

Diana, I find if I cleat off the furling line once the sail is out, I never have any problems with it getting tangled.

If your riggers lost the old furler in such a short time, I'd be checking on ebay to see if they've really lost it or just "lost" it and are perhaps augmenting their profit a little......OK, call me a cynic....
