Seaka's Voyage to Queensland.

Hello All Dreamers,

Tonight I am sitting in SEAKA at the Laurieton RSL Jetty.
Tomorrow at 0700 I sail for Trial Bay enroute to the Whitsunday Islands

Thank you everybody for your wonderful comments,

I now have an easterly wind, buggy all really, but its the roll from the north that earlier in the day I did not notice as I had a southerly then, will be an interesting night if this keeps up! Here is todays post from my sailblog site, where you will have to go to see the pictures.

Well I decided that it would be best to clean up the mess and sort out the few problems in Trail Bay. So have done the chart planning for tomorrow to Coffs harbour, a one line course of 025° compass for 35nm [nautical mile], should take about 7 plus hours [chart AUS812]. I have also been eating up the food that was cold.
I replaced the broken pulley set and found that it was quiet worn, [see photo] after all it was the original one put in place 41 years ago when Seaka was launched. I don’t think I will get that length of service out of the new one. Today has been sunny with passing showers thou to the north it has been black all day, so hope tomorrow will be better.
Yesterday I left the Camden Haven with a blue hull yacht which arrived at Trial Bay only 5 nm ahead of me, quiet chuffed with that, you can see it the e-tube clip of Shaun’s. The other yacht Capricorn Dancer has just come in [1430], next time I do that trip I will also go into Port Macquarie, just makes it easier if the distance is smaller. Yesterdays trip was 56.05nm and done in 9 hours bar to anchor.
Spoke to Nancy this morning so all’s well in the world.

56nm in 9 hours equates to over 6 knots av. speed, which is amazing for a Toppy! You must have been flying......

G'ay Phillip,
I'm keen to follow your voyage as my wife (Ingrid) and I did the trip in Felicite in '92. We went from Port Hacking to Gt Keppel. I can still recall most of it. We met some great people, saw some great sights and had some good (and bad) times. Its a shame you havn't got someone to share it with. Do you need crew!! Hint!

Why shouldn't I go into Ballina?

Just arrived Coffs Harbour. Havent had time to do blog yet.

Delemina= need to fix key in steer, need to fix one winch

Problem = weather window to Yamba closes saturday afternoon for what looks like a week.

So haven't seen the marina bloke yet re costs but may have to motor to Yamba?

Started motor sailing this morning as batteries had been drag down by activity and no sun, didn't stop motor until afew moments ago or would still be out there doing 2 knts. The wind died on me!
