It's a sorry story indeed. In the aftermath, I believe they salvaged both tenders. The yacht itself was trying to be taken to safety, but hit a submerged object which put a hole in the hull bigger than any bilge pump would handle. Apparently there are lots of sunken containers and other large heavy objects under the swollen waters.
The story is told in that one last shot of the poor guy with his head in his hands floating on the wreck.
