Can you get a basic electrical panel so you can build up the electrics, Im ofay with electrics, mechanicals, all things boats minus masts but im pretty good with terminology and got a good idea how they work, used to run around in holdfast trainers and cats when i was a youngster in SA, i want the electrics to be bombproof and fireproof, minimal as I dare, I have lots of styff in shed ive accumulated over 35 years of boats i wanted to build a yacht and accumulated alot of related gear some might be out dated now but its new, I have three nice bilge pumps, switch panel to suit, automatic flipper thingys, why have one when you can have three lol ill replace the manual bilge pump too. She has no lighting whats the required lights i assume nav, stern, mast at least.
Where is the water tank filling thing ill need to pump it out and get it clean.
Silly question, when you unlock the cabin door where does it go?
Whats handy spares wise?
How much fun are spinnakers she has a pole and one kite apparently, never used one, more stuff to learn about.
If anythings gonna fail under sail are there common issues with the Tophats?

I was told if you mix copper dust into resin you can make your own antifoul, CopperKote aint cheap, I know boats are bottomless pits for money , what have you all used effectively without requiring the wife to go stand on the corner lol

Good on ya THmk2, Tern looks great from the couple of photos I've seen, well done.
To me she looks like a mk3 though, with the interior moulded furniture and the support under the mast inside the cabin, have you got any outside photos showing the front hatch?
You'll find room for the companion way boards in the locker in the cockpit, and yes it's very satisfying having a good electrical setup, where things just work when you flick the switch. Be sure to work out a way to keep the batteries charged, I've found solar great, cheers

Sooo where IS the filler for the water tank?...anyone tell me? My regards

Ok found it...on Gunn'l...The water tank has no leaks but I'd be circumspect about potability. Water cleaners are
available for example via Whitworth but before ever drinking from it, I think it would be better to fill tank, leave
a day or two maybe even take the boat for a run to productively swirl the water and take a water ample for
analysis...I have read of people scouring their tanks and that sounds fine...but it's about risks and mitigation.
Briny-based-Bali-belly could be dangerous 'out there' or even locally. I see some people use a sort of replacement
'bladder'..they are more comfortable than I about that course. Others use commercially bottled waters which may
or not have the benefit of quality-assurance.I have considered removing the tank and having it heat and 'otherwise'
treated but what's in the water that one then uses in refilling the tank is probably uncertain. It's something I'll
investigate further as time goes-on.

On Tophat25mk2's reply...getting a dinky to the boat well...trying to ride it out has limited chance of success...The image is amusing....as you pedal madly off the ramp...glub glub glub glub glub...

Was there ever an answer to the question on using the ''shed of dreams' materials? Does he have a boat? or is this discussing an imagination?. In saying "I'm Ofay" not sure whether he means "ok" or 'au-fait'... the latter indicating a sound knowledge of facts, the former a tenuous one. In answer to the 'electrical panel' query the answer is 'yes'. There are several types and manufacturers. I'd prefer American (my only choices of anything "American" are tools and top end gear). There are some pictures on facebook, I think it is, of a panel used in again "I think" Sea Monkey...thoughtfully wired but failing the 'wire-stress test' at some wires...however it might give you something about-which to think. I talk of possibilities as I seem to alternate between being admitted to the general discussion and excluded from it. I have written to an 'administrator' for assistance but received no reply.
