Hi Dean, have your thought about stiffening up the deck by injecting epxoy?
Windchaser had a bit of deck in almost the exact same area which seemed to get a bit spongier over a couple of years. I did a repair I was 80% happy with which is a good statistic for me : ). In retrospect I could have done things better. If you do decide to do a repair something like this I can write more about what I would change if I did the repair again.
However, the job I did, as unprofessional as it was, worked really well. Note that when I drilled the holes, I realised the wood underneath was a bit rotted but dry so easy enough to put epoxy in. Didn't need to dry it.
