Hello troppo
You only have to look around any bay and you can see the passion people have for their boats . New, old or what ever ? The one point I will make is the production yachts built up until the mid 80's where well built ! well most of them ? I'd rather restore one of these "vintage " yachts than a modern day one ? Just wait and see our classic yachts will still be around and seaworthy for many years to come .So keep spending and enjoying .
Another point to be made is , the cost of building or even fitting a yacht these days is now beyond the affordability of most average people ,including me ? I've been trying to complete the fitout of my late Fathers Swanson 38 that we started 32 years ago .Lucky for me he brought the teak etc required to finish her many years ago .

Cheers Bear

From what I could see it's a Mark 2, so would have been built earlier than 1986.

Seems that all it needs is a good clean.

Budget another 4k if you are inclined to get new sails and rigging.

Though much much later...the cockpit toilet, however appropriate in terminology, seems a Putinesque 'throne for a king'...
Whilst I think it bizarre I wonder whether the idea was to convert the yacht to a putt-putt...sitting on the throne and
eating cans of chilli-beans..not as was suggested to run the engine on methane but with a sort of drum fan hooked
into the transom for propulsion. Perhaps it was just a matter of misplaced thinking....having read about them on
vessels of yore and figuring 'ahaaaaa...I have it ...I knew something was missing on mine!!....so built his own poop
deck.....
