and another one.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pISJ-xX5Lg

Wigwam is a Mark 1 Top hat - we had a number 3 headsail and 1 reef in the main. It's the windiest conditions that I have sailed this boat in and was amazed by how balanced and easy to handle she was... felt very solid!!!

we were averaging 5-6 knots downwind and around 4 knots punching back into the southerly... not sure if I would like to be in these conditions for days on end but we had great fun for 4-5 hrs getting knocked around.

:-)

Gavin,

Terrific footage, was amazed at the number of viewings, are there a lot of lurkers out there that we don't know about?

Will try to do same as soon as this weather clears, which is another reason I won't be at Scotland Island this weekend.

Just as a point on the weather, we, at Camden Haven, have noticed that there have been very few yatchs through this summer and I can't say I really blame them.

Hi there Gavin and Phillip,

I must confess that I have been lurking a few times at these footages and have probably pushed the "lurker" number up ! They are excellent and portray so much more than words can. It seems Wigwam is the same Mark (Mark 1) as my Sintra 2, with the cut out transom and outboard mounted in it.
Seeing those seas reminded me of our trip to Tassie a couple of months ago. I wish I could have videoed some of scenes we saw as well. The weather, the sharks, the flying fish, dolphins etc. as well as life on board in general.
These Top Hats are amazingly steady and comfortable boats for their size.
Thank you Gavin for the insight of lofe aboard Wigwam...
