twin batteries

twin batteries

thinking of installing another 12v battery. the existing one is mounted in the port side cockpit hatch. wonder where other tophats place there twin batteries. i am thinking of trying to balance the weight away from the cockpit.stellar has a 10hp inboard installed. stellar is a MK111.your thoughts would be appreciated. rob

Hi Rob, can't help you as I have an outboard. However, I moved my battery from the cockpit locker to under the cockpit where the rudder pipe goes through. You would have your motor where I have my battery. I have made a frame for the battery to sit on and it can take two batteries if I want to add another one.

I have the starter and one house battery under the cockpit aft of the engine and the over house B is on the starboard side while my fuel tank is on the port side.

thanks guys i will check it out on the weekend. it appears to me that no 2 tophats are the same just to make things interesting .cheers
